Elisabeth Farny
Innovation Documentation Consultant
I help organizations transform complex technical, scientific, and operational information into clear, compliant, and decision-ready documentation that supports innovation from concept through protection, funding, and implementation.
As a bilingual English/German Innovation and Technical Writing consultant, I bring more than ten years of experience supporting government, defense, healthcare, life sciences, and other regulated and mission-driven environments across Europe and the United States.
My work spans three interconnected areas:
🔹 Patent drafting and IP documentation support for IP law firms and registered patent practitioners, including detailed technical descriptions, descriptions of drawings, industrial applicability, and specification review under attorney direction
🔹 Innovation funding strategy and grant writing for research, development, and commercialization initiatives, including SBIR/STTR, Horizon Europe, technical narratives, executive summaries, and compliance review
🔹 Process, compliance, and technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process maps, documentation governance, and change-control support
I work at the intersection of innovation, technical communication, and regulated operations. Whether documenting an invention, developing a funding proposal, or establishing the processes needed to implement and scale a new technology, I focus on creating documentation that is technically substantive, strategically aligned, and practical for the people who use it.
My background includes collaborating with attorneys, engineers, scientists, subject-matter experts, operational teams, and proposal professionals to organize complex information and translate it into structured deliverables for legal, technical, funding, compliance, and decision-making audiences.
I am an active member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals and hold the CF APMP and BW-M APMP certifications.
With experience across U.S. and European environments, I provide flexible and confidential support to law firms, innovation-driven organizations, research teams, and consulting partners - helping them protect, fund, and operationalize innovation through strategic documentation.
Outside of my professional work, I have a strong interest in ethnobotany. I also created Austrian Alps Apothecary, a project dedicated to documenting and preserving traditional Alpine herbal and mountain knowledge while reconnecting with my Austrian roots through nature, cultural heritage, and plant traditions.
